I have found it interesting and sometimes hard to believe, though true, how other countries around the world do not allow C&R. I have read that in Germany if you are fishing, and caught fishing, it better be to feed you and your family. Fishing in Germany almost sounds illegal.

In the British Isles, C&R is practiced as much there as it’s done here. Though places like Switzerland & Germany it’s against the law. I wonder how well the fish population is in places like Germany, and if the fish are stocked or very well naturally reproduced to make it illegal to release fish.

Possibly influence from animal-rights wackos who view C&R as torturing fish for the angler’s amusement?

Considering to the insane cost of fishing permits in Europe, it sounds like one more reason to spend my fishing trip $$$ in the US and Canada.

It’s not like we are fighting a fish and bringing it in to where we can release it, then letting it run again just so we can bring it in once more just to let it run again and bring it back in, net it, shake it around in the net like Shake & Bake chicken, and slap it around before we let it go.

Grs, it seems to me I did read somewhere that it did mention animal activists being somewhat involved, but don’t know to what degree.

The PETA crowd isn’t exactly a logical bunch. I try not to lose any sleep over what they choose to believe in the face of overwhelming scientific fact.

I get them twice with hunting and fishing. I know the tree huggers hate to see bears hunted. Which I do a lot of. So, I have big decals on the side of my Jeep hood and on the tailgate saying……BEAR HUNTER.

Just so I can piss them off as much as they piss me off.
