All of you have good wisdom to share. But if there is one thing I can think of it’s if you fish pocket water like I do, upstream and short casts, it’s keep your line off the water so the multiple currents and seams won’t drag your fly around.
You see, this way casting accuracy up close is much easier than at 50ft away. Don’t have them start casting to a target so far away that it will discourage them. Baby steps. Short cast will help teach controlling of the cast and accuracy.
