Ok, last post was on preferred hackle. New question: the bird flu from what my wife tells me is the culprit for rising prices for checken, eggs, and the limitation on producing egg nog this year.

I have noticed for the last few months that my local fly shop has less and less hackle. If you want rooster hackle don’t go there. I went to Sportsman’s Warehouse and they had hackle, but not the color and size I was looking for. Even Cabelas is more and more having less available. The last time I was there I was shocked to see the fly tying aisle so limited on feathers.

Does anybody know if it is the bird flu, or is it something else. I also hear the Hackapocalypse is over, so it can’t be that.
