We all do it I’m sure. Bright sunny days, slower moving water, it makes sense.

But do you guys believe its needed in faster more turbulent water? I just don’t see much of an advantage to use a degreaser if there is one in that type of water.

I use Fullers Earth on the tippet no matter what the water is. More for the shine in mono than anything.

I have a little squeeze bottle of something called Leader Sink – it’s a viscous clear liquid – you rub a drop between your thumb and forefinger and apply to the tippet. I never noticed that it made a difference. But it takes up so little space that I haven’t thrown it out either.

    YMMV.
