I am off next week and should be headed to the Adirondacks. I hope to find some water and biting fish. Browns and really would like to get some colored up male native brook trout.

What are you guys up to this season?

Is it bear season yet or is that later?

They have different seasons. Mine was Sept 10-18th. As was my elk season. So, both of those are done and I still have a muley buck hunt in late Oct.

Good onya DW. When I lived in western NY I always used to go to the Adk’s every September right after Labor Day for a week or so. It was the perfect time to go – the summer tourists were gone and the leaf watchers weren’t up yet, mosquitoes were all but gone and the fish were hungry. By October it was time for either grouse and woodcock or steelhead – decisions, decisions….

Planning to go to the San Juan late October – midge mornings, olive afternoons.

Just got back last night. The fishing was, terrible. Low low water. Made the best of it though, love the north woods and the fall colors, the smell of balsam fir, I need to move near mountains.

Now you’re talking. Without my mountains you might as well put me 6 ft under.
