    One of my dreams is to fish northern pike on a fly rod. And this July we are going to Minnesota where my wife is from, and I have been working over time and saving money like crazy to get a nice 9wt outfit.

    I did it!

    Orvis Recon = $450
    Orvis reel = $260
    line = $75

    Total = $790

    Today after work I took the truck in for an alignment. The mechanic came out and got me. How my passenger side wheel never fell off can only be described as God’s will.

    Upper control arm = $205
    Hub a & bearing assembly = $284
    alignment = $80
    labor = $186

    Total = $755

    That saying easy come, easy go isn’t right. Hard coming, easy going is more like it.

    Bad luck, but a silver lining – if the truck had crashed it would have been a lot worse.

    Did you make sure the parts are bad Scotty? Auto repair is one of the biggest hustles going right now.

    Yes I did Creek. The right side has been making some weird sounds for a long while. Not too long ago I heard a loud pop in that area. I looked it over, but I’m not a mechanic so I really didn’t know what to look for. But when they rocked the wheel in and out I saw that the upper arm was busted and the ball joint was coming out.

    I wish I took mechanics in school instead of welding. It would have served me better.

    Yes Grs. There is a silver lining. And I am thankful it happened when & how it happened. Its just the timing of it all that upsets me because I was being selfish about it yesterday so I was upset. But I now realize the importance of it all, and as a Christian, I see how the Lord knows what’s best for me, whether I like it or not. I see the same attitude in my son when I look out for his best interest, whether he likes it or not.

    In being shown many things today that are good for me to re-learn and apply. I just have to pull up my big boy kilt & deal with it like the man I am.

    Responsibility sucks sometimes. But its a good thing.

    Thankfully it was caught before something really bad happened. I like your attitude and good things come to good people! Keep working and striving Scotty it will work for you.
