I don’t think most feeding fish will travel even 10 feet. Trout will travel maybe 2 feet at most. On the small streams I fish it’s more like one foot. Anybody else experience that?

I have seen a spring creek brown move well over 10 feet to take a Jap Beetle imitation.

I think the SPLAT of a large meaty insect, e.g., a grasshopper or Jap Beetle, will attract fish from a goodly distance, especially after the fish have grown accustomed to eating them.
