Do any of you use those UV lights? I got one two years ago and I like using it very much, but I was wondering while using it, should I wear eye protection to block the UV rays. I have developed a cataract in one of my eye’s, and being a welder, I am surrounded by UV lighting. So I try to wear sunglasses all the time now, and take Prevision vitamins to help with my cataract. It’s a small one, and I was told I wouldn’t have to worry about it till I am about 70. But right now I’m doing what I can to make things easier in the future.

So should we be wearing eye protection when using UV lights for resins?

I’d ask an eye doctor to be sure, but would err on the side of caution – avoid looking right at the light at the very least, and wearing sunglasses couldn’t hurt.
