I know not to wax the ferules, but is there anything else I need to know before I get started? I will wait for your replies. March 5, 2018 at 9:55 am #7918 CreekParticipant That’s a topic with mixed results. Some makers say to never wax it and just wipe it down after fishing it. That’s what I do. March 5, 2018 at 10:30 am #7919 GrsdlnrParticipant I don’t wax my bamboo rods. Just a wipe down with a clean, soft cotton cloth before putting them away after a day of fishing. If you’re going to do it, follow the rodmaker’s instructions to the letter. All my maker says is to NOT wax the ferules. I just remembered that he does have a page on maintaining the rod, I should try to look it up.
